Members Helping Members

Help your neighbors keep their lights on:

You can help your Southern Maryland neighbors who are struggling to pay their electric bills when you contribute to Members Helping Members. Simply sign up to add $1, $5, or $10 to your electric bill each month.

Donations will go to Southern Maryland Tri-County Community Action Committee, which will give the money to customer-members who seek aid and meet the qualifications.

Giving can be rewarding:

As a thank-you to our neighbors who lend a hand, customer-members who sign up between November 15, 2017, and February 15, 2018, will receive rewards from SMECO. Depending on your level of giving, you will receive free LED lights, directional night lights, or a desk lamp. Incentive items will be mailed to you after we receive your enrollment.
