Appliance Recycling Rebates

COVID-19 Update:

As part of our commitment to safety, we are taking appropriate precautions to protect the health and safety of our customer-members, contractors and employees. At this time, in-home scheduled pickup appointments under the Residential Appliance Recycling Program will be canceled, and we’ll contact you to reschedule at a later date. Although in-home appointments are not being scheduled at this time, you may submit either a No Contact pick-up request or a Waitlist Request and we will contact you at a later date to reschedule. We apologize for any inconvenience. Please check back soon for updates.

SMECO can help you lower your energy costs — and pay you to do it. We will pick up and recycle your extra, working (cooling) fridge or freezer, at no charge, and you will get a $50 rebate! Have an old, working room air conditioner or dehumidifier too? We can pick it up for recycling at the same time and give you a $25 bonus!

As part of our commitment to your safety, we now offer both outdoor and in-home no contact pick-up to collect and recycle your appliances.

What is a No Contact Pick-up?

Considering the impact of COVID-19, we're committed to doing what's best for our customer-members and staff. At this time, we are conducting no contact pick-ups. During a no contact pick-up, we are collecting appliances from inside and outside (garage, porch, outbuilding, driveway or curbside) customer-residences with PPE (personal protective equipment) requirements and social distancing in place. Our team will safely collect and recycle your unit while maintaining social distancing.
