SMECO has solutions to help you build a new facility, renovate an existing building, or replace aging inefficient equipment or systems. We offer incentives on energy-efficient equipment to help upgrade your lighting, HVAC systems, and commercial refrigeration equipment. SMECO recognizes that one size doesn’t always fit all; that’s why we offer customized incentives to meet your specific needs. This includes projects involving chillers, energy management systems, compressed air systems, non-HVAC variable frequency drives, process equipment and more.
Incentives and technical services for the following projects:
- Retrofitting existing inefficient equipment
- New construction
- Major renovation or remodeling
- New equipment purchases
- End-of-life equipment replacements
Our incentives can help accelerate your project’s payback period and help you start saving today. Incentives typically cover up to 50% of the total cost for retrofit projects and up to 75% of the incremental cost for new construction projects. You choose your own contractor and have incentives paid directly to you or your contractor, or you may choose to receive a credit for incentives on your SMECO bill.
Technical services can help you to identify and evaluate a wide range of energy efficiency opportunities available to industrial and commercial customers. Co-funding for technical services is available on a limited basis for new construction, major renovation, equipment replacement, and efficiency upgrades to existing equipment and processes. SMECO will co-fund up to 50% of approved engineering studies.
